Our next stop on the bus shuttle was the Sunset viewing area. The bus driver was speaking to us about the various hiking trails from this spot. One he said was less strenuous. As we looked down into the canyon and saw the trails we decided it would be a fun thing to do. Sooooo we did! The trail very quickly was switch backs which descended quickly. The hoodoos were quite spectacular as we looked up at them from the canyon floor. The hike was 150 feet down and 180 feet back up to another viewing area, Sunset. The trail up to sunset was not nearly as steep as was the trail coming down. Gene was able to make the climb fairly easily but Sue had to stop to rest some. It was quite an experience and we will probably do some more hiking in other areas.
