February 4 Day 14
Today is Sunday. Since we cant get anything on our TV but Mexican stations we will be missing church service today. Most Sundays if we do not find a church to attend we do watch some very good church services on television. Today we will walk on the beach and up to the small Abboritas. This RV Park is right on the beach and is beautifully landscaped We tried to call our grandson but the phone lines here are not working. Today is Super Bowl Sunday and a man from Canada who has a television satellite feed is setting up a TV in the rec hall. We are each to bring a snack to watch during the game and then we are going to all cook up some of the meat that we will not be allowed to bring back into the states. We have eaten so many good meals provided by Adventure that we have not had a chance to eat the food in our refrigerator. Before we left I was concerned about the food we would not be allowed to take into Mexico but never thought about the foods we could not take back into the states. It turned out there were no restrictions going into Mexico but big ones coming back. We cannot take in any beef or pork, cooked or frozen and regardless if we bought it in Mexico or the US prior to crossing the border. We can take back chicken and eggs if they are cooked. We can take any fish and sea food. We can take all vegetables and fruits except potatoes. We did have some ground buffalo which we figured would be restricted too so we had buffalo burgers and cooked some ground pork for some people who had no meat at all. The restaurant fixed some French fries and others brought some side dishes. It was another good get-together and fun to be able to watch the Super Bowl game. There were others from the campground who joined us for the game, so many in fact, they set up another TV in the dining hall. We did go to bed early as we have to be on the road by 7am in the morning. It takes us about 45 minutes to get every thing ready to travel.
