It was about 6 PM when we were let off the bus to walk a block to the Empire State Building so that we could see NYC from its 8th floor. We had been warned the lines might be quite long. We had bought our tickets on the internet and thought we would be able to bypass that part of the wait. However we found it was just a voucher. We never could see the end of the line until we were there. We waited in line to get our ticket, we waited in line for a security check, we waited in line for the elevator to the 80th floor, we waited in line for the elevator to the 86th floor and we even waited a short while to get back down….2 hours all together. The sites from the 86th floor were spectacular but we have decided it probably was not worth the wait. After leaving the Empire State Building we had about a 6 to 8 block walk back to the Port Authority to catch the bus back home. It was a long but great day in the Big Apple.
