In this picture the larger ring represents the diameter of the USS Ohio which is 42 feet in diameter with a length of 560 feet. This nuclear submarine was commissioned in 1981. The small ring represents the USS Holland which was the first submarine the USA had It was purchased from Holland in 1900. Its diameter was only 10.5 feet and length was 54 feet.
