We heard there was a good place to watch evening fireworks near the beach so we decided to drive there to walk on the beach, look for some lighthouses and then watch a fireworks show this 4th of July. We first went to Asbury Park. It was a cloudy day here with a forecast of rain. There were very few people on the beach and there was a charge so we just walked along the Board Walk and looked at some of the very old buildings in the area and drove on up the Atlantic coast highway. We wanted to stop in Long Beach to perhaps walk along the beach there but there were so many people around waiting for the 4th festivities we could not find a parking place. The towns here, as in most all beach areas, seem to run together. After a while you lose track of where you are. We found a small restaurant serving Mexican food and had a nice lunch.
